Although this post doesn't cite the original poll, it demonstrates in a basic manner the fact that 'brand' is synonymous with (amongst others): product, service quality, experience and possibly even tax evasion! I would imagine for example that those that have said they hate the Marmite brand simply do not like marmite rather than having an aversion to the cheeky little brown pot.
