Apparently companies are now using dating apps as a target for their marketing campaigns - genius!
Let's say you have identified a particular demographic, which is male and between 21 and 30, living in London. You may do some market research into where they are hanging out. Is there a festival on this weekend? Maybe a video has gone viral that you can jump on the back of?
But have you thought about dating apps?
Recently I was shown some screenshots of Happn and how they are sliding in adverts in the places of profiles. What's more, they are targeted to the demographic to which you belong.
With most dating apps linked to your social media accounts, companies can now identify the group they want to sell to and make sure they are popping up in those feeds every day.
Very clever indeed.
Considering the app’s popularity, it’s no surprise that companies have begun to develop marketing strategies to reach its user base. Apps like Tinder are especially appealing to marketers, since the app’s infrastructure allows them to target a specific age demographic.
