PROFESSIONAL SERVICES BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND MARKETING INSIGHTS

Insiders Club Kickoff - Teaching each other to fish

Last Thursday, we held our first Insider Club event of 2021. It brought together some brilliant leaders in Legal and Professional Services marketing that we have as clients to share their experience. We have always known that we were lucky to work with some of the most prestigious (and demanding) firms in the world; their input has helped us determine the direction of our product for several years.

The event was designed to facilitate the direct sharing of best practice by leading global firms with other, similar organisations and to be a forum for discussion of all the challenges and opportunities faced by the community today.

Rupert Winlaw, Communications Lead at Ropes & Grey in London took the lead, talking in-depth about how he and his team use the consistent sharing of feedback statistics to drive organisational change. The results driven by Rupert’s approach are that from a base of almost no social activity in 2019, 70% of the Partners in Ropes & Grey’s London office have created a post which has driven a 720% increase in activity on LinkedIn.

The panel followed in a similar vein with established experts being generous with both their time and advice about how they have managed the challenges of delivering content that is truly useful to clients, particularly in the time of lockdown.

The panel comprised of:

Linda Orton – Chief Marketing Officer, Alvarez & Marsal
Emma Baker – Head of Marketing & Communications, Charles Russell Speechlys
Chris Eatherton – Head of Digital, Slaughter and May
Alexander Williams – Business Development Manager, Baker McKenzie

Our hope is that over time we will be able to connect more and more Marketing and Business Development experts from complex matrix-managed knowledge businesses so they can continue to guide their firms through the digital transformation journey that lies ahead.
