PRODUCT UPDATE: What's new from Passle?

Our latest sprint is named after the Portuguese wine 'Vinho Verde'. In this sprint, we focused on improving author notifications, and giving administrators better visibility into emails and notifications.

If you want to learn more about the updates or have any questions, please feel free to contact the Passle Client Success Team.

Here is an overview of our new features and enhancements

Manage emails and push notifications

To give administrators greater visibility into the emails being sent to their users, we've introduced a new section, ‘Manage email & push notifications’ under each user profile, which shows all emails sent in the last 30 days. You are also able to view the status of each email, such as whether it has been opened.

Notifications are grouped into the following categories:

  • Activity emails: Monthly or quarterly performance updates sent to users, as well as admin statistics emails.
  • Other emails: Includes approval requests, new post notifications, daily summaries, and (if applicable) Client Connect subscriber notifications.
  • Push notifications: In-app notifications.

Author Notification updates

Following client feedback and requests, we’ve improved the way authors are added to posts. Now, when adding authors, you’ll have two options:

  • Save changes: This saves the post and authors, just as before.
  • Save changes & notify authors: This allows you to notify the author(s) and add an optional message, as well as choose which author(s) should receive it.

This helps keep authors informed when they’re added to content, giving them the opportunity to review it if needed.

All messages, and if the authors were notified, have been added to the post history.

Other key changes in this update, including enhancements or minor tweaks to our existing features

Author notification updates

Previously, if a post was created on behalf of someone else, only the person who requested approval would be notified once it was approved and published. This meant that other authors weren’t always informed when their content went live.

We’ve now updated this behaviour so that all named authors on a post will receive a notification when the post is approved and published.

Additional Client Connect settings

To support requests from some of our clients, we have added new options to the Client Connect newsletter settings.

Ability to add a mandatory ‘Company’ field on the subscription sign-up form

The 'company' field on the subscription form now has three possible options:

  • Disabled: No company field appears in the form.
  • Optional: Company field appears on the form, but completion is not mandatory.
  • Required: Company field appears on the form, and must be filled in.

Ability to exclude tags from a channel subscription

To give our clients more flexibility, two new options have been added to tag matching options for channel settings:

  • Exclude all of the tags
Posts with only one of the tags will not be excluded from channel.
  • Exclude any of the tags
Posts with at least one of the tags will be excluded from channel.

What's new on mobile

Updates to mobile login interface

Mobile login now works the same way as it does on desktop, making the process more consistent and intuitive across devices.

When you enter your email address, Passle will identify whether Single Sign-On (SSO) is enabled for your account:

  • If SSO is enabled, you'll be automatically redirected to your SSO provider for authentication.
  • If your account supports both SSO and password login, you’ll have the option to choose between the two.
  • If you don’t use SSO, you can simply log in with your password as usual.

Features that will no longer be available

Advanced Newsletter feature

The Advanced Newsletter feature will be retired from use and will no longer work after 30 April 2025. The Publish a newsletter ('copy & paste' post summary generator) option and the Client Connect newsletter option will both continue to be available to clients.
