We were lucky enough to catch up with Simran for a quick Q&A about her Passle experience…
Q. What was your situation at the time of applying for the Passle internship program, and what attracted you to sending in your application?
A. I was in the middle of my Master’s in Digital Economy studies and was eager to enhance my technical and interpersonal skills and gain hands-on experience by working in a client-focused environment. I was interested in Passle for its innovative approach to thought leadership, helping experts turn their insights into engaging digital content. I was particularly drawn to the opportunity to work with well-known clients across the legal and consultancy sectors.
Q. What does the internship involve? Can you describe the work you’ve been doing with the Client Success team alongside your studies?
A. During my internship with the Client Success team, I was involved in a variety of key activities.
I supported client onboarding to help meet time-sensitive targets, assisted experts in building their online profiles, and ensured user records were kept up to date.
My daily tasks also included:
- Tracking client engagement using the Passle dashboard and Excel.
- Creating insight-driven PowerPoint decks and documents for quarterly and annual reports.
- Case studies to analyse engagement and highlight areas for improvement.
- Migrating content to the Passle platform.
All of which helped me gain a deeper understanding of how a SaaS model like the Passle platform operates, from content imports to enhancing the overall user experience.
Q. What was the induction and training like during your first few weeks with Passle?
A. I started with a full week of training and introductions, including meetings with the Founders and teams from Sales and Product. It really helped me understand how the company works and how my role fits in.
Everyone was welcoming, and the company culture was very supportive and inclusive. I felt comfortable asking questions and getting help whenever I needed it. This made me feel ready and confident to start taking on tasks pretty fast.
Q. How did you find the volume of work you were given?
A. The volume of work was very manageable, and I felt comfortable balancing it alongside my studies. The flexibility to choose my own working days and hours, typically around 5–7 hours a week, made it easy to stay on top of both. My manager was also understanding and adaptive when I had academic deadlines or a busier schedule, which made a big difference.
Q. What have you learned during your time at Passle?
A. I've strengthened my analytical skills, particularly in working with quantitative data to track and analyse client engagement. I've also developed my ability to work independently and manage my time effectively alongside my studies. A key takeaway was understanding the importance of client retention and ensuring clients consistently recognise the value of the service. Additionally, I gained insight into cross-functional collaboration among Client Success, Product, Support, and Sales teams.
Q. What’s been your favourite part of the internship?
A. My favourite part of the internship was the flexibility it offered, which made it easy to balance work with my studies effectively. I also really enjoyed being introduced to the world of Client Success, a field I hadn’t explored before, and learning how technology and client relationships come together to drive real business impact. This experience offered me valuable insight into how technology can enhance professional visibility and engagement.
Q. What kind of skills and qualities do you think a new applicant needs to succeed in this role?
A. To succeed in this role, I believe a new applicant needs strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Creativity is also important for creating engaging visual materials that resonate with clients. Being a fast learner helps to quickly adapt to new tools and processes. Additionally, a good understanding of Microsoft packages, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is essential to analyse data and present insights clearly.
Q. What would your advice to anyone starting the Passle Client Success Internship?
A. If you’re starting the Passle Client Success internship, my top tip is to ask lots of questions right from the start. There’s no silly question! I found it helpful to take detailed notes early on to get comfortable with the Passle platform and its features.
Q. Tell us about your next steps? What’s coming up next for you?
A. I have secured a six-month full-time internship in Client Success within the commodities sector, based in Central London. I’m excited to continue developing my skills in this area and apply what I’ve learned at Passle.
Finally, the internship at Passle was a fantastic introduction to the field, and I’m grateful for the valuable experience it provided!
