Though I agree with his suggestions about writing relevant, personable content that's optimised for search, his most compelling tip for me is ensuring that your content is authoritative.

Distributing authoritative content that is evidently penned by an expert is a sure-fire way to retain your audience and simultaneously win their trust. Ghostwritten or aggregated content will be of no value to your readers and will inadvertently hamper your chances of winning their advocacy for your brand. 

Tips on Generating A Higher Return The content that has been proven to generate the highest return on investment has some specific attributes: [...] 3. It is authoritative. Your audience wants to know that what they are reading has come from a true expert on the subject so they can trust that the information has true value. This also establishes trust with your audience, which is necessary before they will decide to share your content with their circles.
