PMF26 | AI Panel - Artificial Intelligence or Artificial Confidence?

What if AI's greatest opportunity isn't simply doing things faster, but freeing us to do things we never previously had time for?

This was a key theme from a lively panel featuring Lee Curtis, Legal Engine; Alastair Banks, Optix Solutions; Natasha Tucker, Bennett Jones; and Bernard Savage, Tenandahalf.

From automating CRM administration and identifying new business opportunities to repurposing content, improving proposals and preparing for client pitches, AI can remove much of the repetitive work consuming MBD teams' time.

But the panel also explored the dangers of artificial confidence. AI can produce polished, convincing outputs that are inaccurate, generic or simply wrong. Without appropriate oversight, training and critical thinking, firms risk mistaking efficiency for effectiveness. Human judgment, curiosity and robust governance remain essential.

However, the most compelling takeaway wasn't about technology itself. It was about what we choose to do with the time AI gives back. Rather than simply producing more content or completing existing tasks faster, MBD professionals have an opportunity to rethink how they work.

More time understanding clients. More meaningful conversations with partners. More strategic thinking, creativity and relationship building.

AI's real value isn't just helping us do more of what we already do. It's creating the capacity to do the important things we previously couldn't find time for.

And that could fundamentally change the impact of MBD teams.
